Having tried developing Computer Vision algorithms and failed again and again in the past, I’ve gained over the years a lot of appreciation for our brain, a device that equips us with the ability to understand images and videos with amazing accuracy and ease.
The brain equips us with the ability to do many other things as well, of course, like understanding speech, speaking, dancing, playing football, reasoning about abstract concepts and many more. but I must admit that I have a soft spot for vision, and for me our ability to see is special and will always have a warm place in my heart.
This appreciation has eventually led me to go study the brain in more depth and pursue a PhD in Computational Neuroscience.
In this Blog I will try to share a little bit of what I’ve learned and bring a little bit of Neuroscience to readers with background in Machine Learning, and a little bit of Machine Learning to readers with background in Neuroscience, with the hope to bring these two fields slightly closer together.
